December 13, 2007 – January 3, 2017
Andrew Jayden Guadalupe was a bright, loving soul whose energy and light touched everyone he met. Born on December 13, 2007, Andrew was full of life, laughter, and big dreams. He loved basketball and aspired to be just like his hero, LeBron James. When he wasn’t shooting hoops, he was watching WWE—his favorite wrestler, John Cena, reminded him to never give up.
Andrew was also an avid learner with a deep love for language. He attended Harlem Hebrew Language Academy, where Hebrew was his favorite subject. He took great pride in learning the language and embraced every opportunity to grow and shine in school.
Just days after celebrating his 9th birthday, Andrew suffered a severe asthma attack on December 26, 2016. Due to medical negligence, he was tragically declared brain dead on January 3, 2017. His sudden loss devastated his family, friends, and community.
Though his life was cut short, Andrew’s spirit lives on through Andrew’s Healing Hands, a nonprofit created in his honor to support and uplift children and families in need. Andrew was a son, a brother, a scholar, and a dreamer—and his legacy continues to inspire love, justice, and healing.
